Dynamic – INDIFFERENCE
OBJECTIVE: TO SHOW THE IMPORTANCE OF EMPATHY
MATERIAL: PAPER AND CRAYONS
Give each participant a box of crayons.
Ask them to make a drawing: set a time limit of 15 minutes. Everyone should draw as best as they can.
They will put effort into making the most perfect drawing, trying to surpass their peers.
At the end of the allotted time, simply instruct everyone to crush and throw away their masterpiece.
Note: Participants may feel upset, not understanding why they have to destroy something they put so much effort into.
Afterwards, ask questions and prompt reflections such as:
- Isn’t this how we act when we ignore people?
- When someone tries to show us something, and we remain indifferent?
- How can we expect attention or care from others if we ourselves did not give it?
