Dynamic – SENSE OF LIFE OR DEATH
OBJECTIVE: TO ANALYZE LIFETIME AND PRIORITIES
🏆WHO WINS? THERE ARE NO WINNERS IN THIS ACTIVITY.
MATERIAL: MATCHSTICK BOXES
The coordinator prepares a dimly lit environment and asks the group to sit in a circle.
Distribute one matchstick box to each participant, with only one stick in each, and ask them to be careful to put the stick back in the box when it is almost completely burned.
When the facilitator says “start,” everyone should light a matchstick and begin thinking about everything they wish to happen in their life until the stick burns out.
Afterwards, ask the group to reflect and share some messages such as:
- The flame’s time is short! We need to prioritize our needs.
- The flame symbolizes life; God gives us life and only He can decide when the flame will go out.
- We are like the matchstick; our life, no matter how long, is still short.
- God is the living flame within us. Have we been grateful for what He has already given us?
- The flame that goes out in the world should be lit on the day of judgment before the Lord.
- Are we willing to be living flames for all eternity? Do we deserve such a gift?
Analyze the activity and the feelings it generates.
