OBJECTIVE: TO HIGHLIGHT THE IMPORTANCE OF A LEADER’S TEMPERANCE
🏆WHO WINS? THE TEAM THAT BEST COMPLETES THE TASK IN AN ORDERLY MANNER
MATERIAL: GLUE, PENCILS, PLASTIC BOTTLES, MASKING TAPE, SCISSORS, CARDBOARD, PAINT,
NEWSPAPER…

Form 2 groups, and the coordinator selects a leader for each group.

After choosing the leaders, call them aside so that the other participants cannot hear, and give them instructions on how to act during the activity:

One leader should agree with all opinions, changing as divergent opinions are presented. This leader should be weak, without their own opinion, and lacking the authority to organize anything.

The other leader should disagree with all opinions, using their position to impose their will. This leader should be authoritarian and arrogant, sometimes interrupting or disrespecting others when they start to express their opinion.

The mission: The groups must try to build a boat using various materials such as glue, pencils, plastic bottles, masking tape, scissors, cardboard, paint, and newspaper.

After the groups finish constructing their boats, analyze them and note the strengths and weaknesses of each.

Then, reveal the infiltrators. Show that neither the permissive nor the arrogant leaders are effective. Demonstrate that such leaders rarely accomplish objectives or satisfy the team, and consequently, they do not please God.

Next, ask each participant to analyze their own behavior, reflecting on whether they have shown similar traits to those of the leaders.

Open a discussion about what an ideal leader would be like, emphasizing the importance of temperance in guiding the team.
